rbphoto@pacbell.net BioMy 'day job' is a commercial/industrial electrician/foreman, working in the SF Bay Area (mainly the general San Jose area - which I may better know than some friends who LIVE there!). My 'passion(s)' involve ideas or interpretations via photography and/or the written word. I've been doing these far longer than I've been "playing with wires and pipe."
My abridged "artist statement" --
As a means of expression, photography has been a part of me since the 1970s. Whatever else I've done, it's been there as one of my 'passions' in Life. One favored instructor I dealt with – Carmel’s Al Weber – etched the term of ‘attitude’ in me: how I approach the imagery – my own outlook, my focus, my interest and understanding. There’s far more to getting a satisfactory image than pushing a button. A quote I hold on to dearly (by Yuri Dojc) goes something like this: “Experience. Then photograph the experience.” I’ve adapted the quote in revisiting its premise: “Experience. Then (cherish/record/capture/become captivated by/learn from/become aware of/interpret/…) the experience.”
